Mark Busacca, Born 1957 in San Francisco, raised in the
Central Valley, Graduated as one of the youngest ever to be accepted and to
finish from the prestigious school, Art Center College of Design in Pasadena
in 1980. Early in his career, Busacca worked with notables within the arts
including artists Pat Nagel and Artist Paul Jazzman, Movie maker Bob Abel,
and photographer Helmut Newton.
By the late 1980s, Busacca moved to the Bay Area from Southern California
where for the next twenty years, he was considered one of the newest premier geometric painters today. Throughout his impressive career, Busacca
maintained a strong aesthetic and intellectual foundation based on
explorations of color, geometric design, form and lines for which he is so
well known. San Francisco has provided inspiration for a series of abstract
graphic paintings and drawings for which he is best known today.
Busacca was recognized in the late 1980s as an important abstract geometric
expressionist painter and later became a founder of the first geometric graphic visual search company.
One of the leading figures and thinkers in developing visual search within the web movement, Busacca's work has been the subject of many major Gallery shows. Equally important to him has been the raising of his four children as a single father.
During his tenure, Busacca has developed many relationships throughout the creative marketplace including artist Andy Warhol, photographers Herb Ritts and George Holz, actor Elliot Gould, singer Stevie Nicks and novelist Danielle Steel. Additionally, Mark taught undergraduate/graduate classes at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco for many years, and his been a Board Member of Young Audiences. Busacca, today is working on numerous projects like his personal love of art work from around the world. This is his aspiring art collection which helps stimulate and influence his own work, as well as his artistic consulting and promotion of contemporary up coming artists through his own gallery.
